Ted began writing songs in Nashville more than 60 years ago, learning the craft from legendary songwriters Marijohn Wilkin, Merle Kilgore, John D. Laudermilk, and Shawna Harrington. He sang demos for Jim Denny of Cedarwood Publishing at Bradley Studio in the early 1960s. Today, Ted continues writing Country, Contemporary Christian, and Pop songs while collaborating with his son, Mark Merthe of The Drive Studio in Los Angeles.

Ted has over 400 additional MP3 song demos published by Merthe And Son Publishing, ASCAP. The catalog includes Country, Contemporary Pop, Christian/Gospel, Patriotic, Folk, and novelty songs—all available upon request. Contact Ted for songs suited to a particular artist or project.
